NavbatUz

A mobile-first booking app for salons, clinics, barbershops and gyms in Uzbekistan. It got real businesses and real customers, then didn't work out.

What it is

A booking app for Uzbekistan. Instead of calling a barber or a clinic and hoping they pick up, you open the app, see free slots and book one. The landing page calls the product Birzum, with the tagline “Book services. No waiting.”

It works in Uzbek, Russian and English, shows slots in real time, and sends reminders so people actually show up.

What businesses get

  • A schedule with business hours
  • Workers, services and pricing
  • Customer reminders and reviews
  • Analytics, like peak hours and no-shows

What happened

I got 5 businesses onto the app, and with them their own customers. That part was real: people were using it to book.

In the end it didn’t work out, and it never made money.

What I took from it

Money wise, nothing. Experience wise, a lot. I built the whole thing end to end, and getting even five businesses to change how they take bookings taught me more about products and sales than any project I did at a desk.
